Dockside Boat Bars was inspired by the workings of our family boat yard on Spa Creek in Annapolis. An old-fashioned boat yard with a working railway and a wood shop, most of the days we’re filled with hauling and servicing wood boats. And while there seemed to be no end to scraping barnacles and cleaning running gear, there were many days we enjoyed restoring historic runabouts, and building small skiffs. It was here that we honed our skills of wood boat construction, striking a water line, and applying fresh varnish.

Dockside Boat Bars strives to duplicate the lines of classic wooden boats in both our transom and half-hull boat bars. With the use of top-grade marine materials and genuine mahogany wood, hopefully our boat bars inspire memories of boats from the past - perhaps even a family boat from prior generations.

A custom-built boat bar takes between 6-8 weeks to complete. Each boat bar is slightly unique, and hopefully perfect for the client’s setting and proposed use. As we build, we’ll send progress photos along the way so you can participate in the build.
